Embarcadero is hosting a customer survey to gather feedback about RAD Studio and ideas and recommendations for the future of the product, including Delphi and C++Builder.
The 2024 RAD Studio, Delphi, and C++Builder developer survey has 59 questions and it should take about 20 minutes to complete. We know your time is valuable and so we greatly appreciate your participation in this survey, which is going to help us shape the future of the product. We haven’t done a large developer survey for some time, which makes this survey even more important for us.
This survey will remain open until January 21st 2024 and it’s available in multiple languages. You can pick a language other than English in the combo box on the upper right corner of the first page. The additional available languages are:
- German
- French
- Spanish
- Portuguese
- Italian
- Traditional Chinese
- Simplified Chinese
- Japanese
- Korean
The survey is available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RADSurvey2024

what I want is a lean version of Delphi with small object code, just as in Delphi-3.
I program board games, educational software and simulations. Mostly drawing.
No databases, no internet.

Sounds great. Fill out the survey and make sure to explain your wishes just like that in it so your voice gets heard in the right places.
Thanks for letting us know!
I remember once upon a time being told by a prospective client that, at about 135KB, my Delphi app was too big to be downloaded by end users over the internet. I had to use an exe binary compression tool to shrink it to about 78KB. That was so long ago… In these days of multi-gigabyte mobile apps, abundant local storage, almost infinite cloud storage, and super fast download speeds, I didn’t think there could still be anyone obsessing about the size of their compiled object code.
I agree with Ian Barker, the comments section is not the best place to get your voice heard. If this is important to you, you should be heading to that survey (I think there is a free form area at the end of the survey) and hounding the dev team to enable an optimisation that strips out all the unnecessary parts of the RTL to create a lean and mean binary application.
Hope I’m not too late, the survey is over, but the link still works )
If the link still works your submission will be counted. 🙂
Where we can see the results of the survey?
