Today Embarcadero released a second patch for RAD Studio, Delphi, and C++Builder 11 Alexandria. The patch addresses one significant regression introduced by Patch 1 and improves the support for the latest Apple SDKs on macOS Monterey with a new version of PAServer for macOS.
This second patch, called November Patch, is a cumulative patch including also Patch 1 fixes — and therefore we are retiring Patch 1. This means the November patch can be equally installed on a RAD Studio 11 RTM version or on a system with Patch 1 already. The patch is available to active update subscription customers in the GetIt Package Manager (with a matching alert showing up in the new IDE Welcome Page) and it will be shortly on the my.embarcadero.com download site. Installing this patch is recommended for all RAD Studio 11 customers. The patch readme with the list of publicly reported issues addressed is below in this blog post (and in the patch readme file), which also explains the installation process.
GetIt-Based Installation
As you start the IDE (or at the next Welcome Page refresh), youâll see the âPatch Availableâ icon, which is in a different location in the RAD 11 Welcome Page, as you can see below:
By selecting the icon, or opening the GetIt Package Manager and navigating to the âPatches and Hotfixesâ section, youâll see the following item:
The patch is delivered as a deferred installation package, which means it is installed after you shut down the IDE (youâll get prompted to restart, but you can wait until later). Remember youâll need to accept the UAC Windows prompt immediately after the start of the installation process (which appears as stuck while the UAC prompt get displayed in separate window). Notice also that the  patch is over 850 MB to download, so the download step taking place from the console window (opened as the IDE shuts down) is going to take some time.
It is also expected that some files are not found if your installation wasnât complete (for example, in case of missing translation files or in case a partial platforms installation).
Once the patch installation process is completed, the RAD Studio IDE restarts automatically. Notice, though, that the macOS version of PAServer updated by this patch needs to be manually installed on your macOS device.
Manual Installation
You can also find the patch in the my.embarcadero.com portal. In this case you have to download the patch ZIP file and install it manually, following similar steps of the automated install. You need to manually close the RAD Studio IDE before you install the patch (youâll see an error if the IDE is running).
—- RAD Studio 11 November Patch Readme —-
This is the second patch for RAD Studio 11 and it is a cumulative patch including all of the changes and fixes in RAD Studio 11.0 Patch 1. For this reason, this new patch can be equally installed on a system which already has Patch 1, overriding it, or on a new RAD Studio 11 installation.
The patch addresses a regression introduced in RAD Studio 11 Patch 1 and includes an additional update to PAServer for macOS and iOS development on macOS 12.0.1 Monterey. More details are listed below. Installing this patch is recommended for all RAD Studio 11 customers.
Installation via GetIt
If you download the patch via GetIt, it is installed automatically, creating a backup of the files replaced. The download, about 900MB, happens in one of the steps of the console window (so may take some time, depending on your connection speed).
Note that the updated RAD Studio 11.0 PAServer version 13.0.12.1 for iOS and macOS is only copied into the PAServer folder (by default, a folder like C:Program Files (x86)EmbarcaderoStudio22.0PAServer), and you need to copy it over to a Mac and install it manually there. After this step, in the SDK Manager of the RAD Studio IDE you need to delete and redefine the macOS 12.0 SDK and/or the iOS 15.0 SDK (we recommend deleting and importing again any Apple SDK you have already, if you are running PAServer on macOS Monterey).
Manual Download and Installation
This patch is also available in the download portal at my.embarcadero.com. In this case, youâll find the main RAD Studio 11 November Patch download file, with a batch file you can run or you can manually expand the ZIP file in the respective subfolders of the RAD Studio installation folder. Youâll also have to copy PAServer and install on your Mac and reimport the SDKs as explained above.
Uninstallation steps (for GetIt installation)
- Open the Catalog Repository installation folder
- Run patch.R110.hotfix.november_uninstall.bat
- Only *after* you have cleared the patch, uninstall the package from GetIt

I still get exception class 6 at start of app created with ios sdk 15 imported with new PAServer.
I know other people are definitely able to use it with the new PAServer when they previously could not – I was literally speaking to someone yesterday in that situation. You can report this at the following support page: https://www.embarcadero.com/support.
where are the tstringgrid keyboard events?
I think the November patch release is incomplete. it don’t update files in Redist folder. It also don’t include update for binlinux64
If there is a bug please report it at https://quality.embarcadero.com/
Hi Jim, What can we do when a critical debugging bug stops D11 from working for us and there has been no response on the quality site (RSP-35879)? I love Delphi and have used it for 25 years but I can not upgrade because of these debugging issues. Raising this is a public forum is the last thing I want to do but I am at my whits end with this issue.
Mathew, to my knowledge the bug has been addressed internally and should be part of the coming 11.1 update (with the usual disclaimer there is no guarantee an issue will be addressed until product official release). Feel free to ping me directly over email for more information.
Hi Marco, Is there an ETA on 11.1 ? If this is mentioned on a roadmap, where do I find that roadmap ? Thanks.
