Zusi is a real time 3D train driving simulation using MS DirectX graphics. It is used for driver training in many railway companies (most of them in Germany). A hobby version for enthusiasts is also available. According to the developer, “Zusi 3 Professional offers EVUs, training companies, universities, etc. extensive opportunities to train train drivers in numerous matters of operations , both for training and further training purposes as well as for monitoring purposes . When developing the simulator, particular emphasis was placed on being able to implement customer-friendly solutions in financial and technical terms through a flexible software and hardware concept.” Additionally, “The hobby version of Zusi 3 is particularly suitable for ambitious hobby train drivers. But even beginners can familiarize themselves with the topic thanks to various aids. For beginners and advanced users, for example, it is possible to set the safety systems a little less strict to make it easier to get started.”
