How To Use Copy Assign Append Insert And Replace Methods Of C++ String Types

Hello C++ Developers, this week, we have 2 great articles about some of the methods of std::string and std::wstring. We have also a topic about the std::make_from_tuple function template. If you still haven’t read my previous posts, first I should add that a few weeks ago the latest RAD Studio C++ Builder 12 Update 1 was released with a lot of amazing new features, such as the new bcc64x 64-bit CLANG compiler that has VCL/FMX/Skia GUI support with a one-click “64bit Windows Modern” platform option, a very useful Split Editor feature, fully integrated and enhanced Skia Library and more. It also supports wonderful graphical shaders and has the powerful Visual Assist tool and an improved LSP Code Insight among many other new improvements and bug fixes.

As part of our constant drive for improving quality and driving forward new features based on your feedback there is also a new patch released for RAD Studio 12 Update 1. If you have RAD Studio 12.1 this is how you can patch it.

If you missed the webinar about the latest RAD Studio C++ Builder 12.1, here is the video of some of its great features.

Where I can I learn C++ and try these examples below with a free C++ compiler?

If you don’t know anything about C++ or the C++ Builder IDE, don’t worry, we have a lot of great, easy to understand examples on the LearnCPlusPlus.org website and they’re all completely free. Just visit this site and copy and paste any examples there into a new Console, VCL, or FMX project, depending on the type of post. We keep adding more C and C++ posts with sample code. In today’s round-up of recent posts on LearnCPlusPlus.org, we have new articles with very simple examples that can be used with:

How to code in modern C++ with C++ Builder 12?

In C++, one of the most used variable types are text strings, also known as alfa-numeric variables, and they are really important when storing and retrieving valuable data. It is important to store your data safely in its language and localization. In modern C++, strings are std::basic_string types such as std::string, and std::wstring. In the first post, we explain some methods of std::string in C++, we will explain copy, assign, append, insert, and replace methods of std::string that you can use in string operations.

In C++, another std::basic_string type is std::wstring. In the next post, we explain some methods of std::wstring in C++, we will explain copy, assign, append, insert, and replace methods of std::wstring that you can use in string operations.

The  C++ 17 standard was one of the major standards in the history of modern C++. One of the new library features in C++17 was std::make_from_tuple which is a new function template that initializes a value of type T from the elements of a given tuple. In the last post, we explain how to apply it to std::tuple in C++ examples.
