Random Thoughts on the Passing Scene #128

- Okay, question: How do I end up with people on my Twitter following list that I know I didn’t put there? I get these people in my Twitter stream that I’ve never heard of, and – surprise!!! – they are spamming me. How does that happen? (Updated: Let me be clearer — I end up following them. In other words, it’s as if I somehow chose to follow them, but I know I didn’t.)
- Did you know that we have our own Channel on YouTube?
- Jim McKeeth did a great presentation for CodeRage 4 on doing Silverlight with Delphi Prism. Man, you can do a lot of cool stuff with Delphi Prism.
- Jim Tierney did two talks on DataSnap for CodeRage 4, and he’s posted all the code on CodeCentral. Jim also showed how you can use Delphi Prism to talk to a DataSnap server. Powerful stuff.
- Pawel Glowacki shows how to use Delphi and Delphi for PHP together.
- Great post by Chris Hesik on the various types of debug information that you can use and how to use them.

From what I understand, anybody (including spammers) can follow you if they know your Twitter ID.

September 17th, 2009 at 2:16 pmCould be one of the numerous security issues Twitter has had recently, like allowing JavaScript in a tweet. That’s speculation, though.

September 17th, 2009 at 8:45 pmNick, some time back I recall you in the Delphi non-tech newsgroup said that the best thing about Twitter is that you can ignore it.
I thought it was a good advice, you should follow it yourself.
