Highlander BetaBlogging
28 Aug
By now, you’ve probably seen some of our field testers who are starting to blog about the cool stuff they are doing with Highlander. There are a lot of new things to do with it, and so it is nice to have our field testers out there talking about it.
But I want to make sure that everybody sees all the BetaBlogging going on, so here is a list of things that you should take a look at:
- John Moshakis blogs about Blackfish SQL. He also has a posting about using Roles and Memberships in ASP.NET with Delphi and Blackfish.
- Peter Morris is a big ECO guy, and has a great post on ECO IV in Highlander.
- Holger Flick has the splash screen on his blog.
- Dave Clegg shows off using ECO IV with VCL.NET.
- Hallvard shows off some Generics
- In addition, I showed a bunch of Highlander stuff on the Delphi Hour.
- Olaf Monien does a little XAML coding with Highlander.
- ADDED:Dr. Bob did some generics as well.
If you’ve done a BetaBlogging entry, be sure to contact me, and I’ll post it here. We certainly want to let everyone see what you are up to.

August 29th, 2007 at 9:12 amI had found VCL.NET very slow (and I work on a heavy 3-tier web service/desktop application over, so I relied much on it). It’s faster than BDS2006?
August 29th, 2007 at 5:17 pmThanks for the links. don’t know why, but the second link - Peter Morris is a big ECO guy - didn’t open
August 29th, 2007 at 11:42 pmHi, everyone!
I don’t known that’s the right channel, but i have a strong interest in becoming a field tester for highlander.
August 30th, 2007 at 10:35 amI’m a brasilian Delphi user since the first version and actually work in multi-tier desktop applications and asp.net, using Delphi 7 and BDS 2006.
Thank you all!
I apologize for the last entry. I have found the right channel.
August 31st, 2007 at 8:01 amSorry guys!
> Are there any general IDE improvements outside of dotNet things that perhaps are not getting as much coverage as they could?
Yes, there are many bug and performance enhancements in RAD Studio 2007 for both Delphi, Delphi.NET and C++Builder.
September 3rd, 2007 at 9:25 pmI found another blog about RAD2007
