Upgrading from Turbo Pro
21 Feb
Okay — we’ve gotten some rather interesting an intense feedback, and we revisted the “upgrade from Turbo Pro” issue.
So, if you are a Turbo Professional owner, you can upgrade from that version to the Pro version of Delphi 2007 and Pro version of the other Studio products that may be released in the future.
We’ll also be revisiting this whole “product line” thing, and clarifying it. I apologize if I’ve caused confusion on it — I certainly don’t want to have done that.
In the mean time, I think that should clear things up somewhat for people. Also note that I’ve altered the post right below this one to reflect this.
Better?

MUCH better
Does the same upgrade price apply from Turbo Pro?

February 22nd, 2007 at 12:59 am"Start with a ‘low investment’, and if you like it - or you application fly - upgrade". This is exactly the way that I see it. Get the people on board with a little money and then pull them into the big fish (BDS+SA). Great response to your customers.

February 22nd, 2007 at 3:07 amLooking forward to the product line clarifications. Please, make it good.
February 22nd, 2007 at 5:38 amGreat news and thanks! I did’nt want to tell my boss that there was no upgrade path from Turbo after convincing him to buy 5 licences of Turbo Delphi Pro back in december instead of Visual Studio!
February 22nd, 2007 at 6:39 amI also think this is the way to go! You can start learning with third-party components included, and once you need more, like build configurations, better database connectivity, or Vista compliance, go for Delphi 2007. I am very excited about the new products and can’t wait to get my hands on them!
February 22nd, 2007 at 8:33 amWill done. I think you are in correct track of enhancing yout picture with your customers. Thanks alot.
February 23rd, 2007 at 2:14 amYay for CodeGear!

February 23rd, 2007 at 9:11 amCan I upgrade from Turbo Pro to D2007 Ent?
Would you please clarify the Pro/Ent issue for the upgrade procedure?
I think the D2007 Pro has a relatively high price considering that it is technically Turbo Delphi 2007. The Ajax support is only in page mode of Intraweb and I don’t believe anyone wants to use the limited version of the Intraweb. So you won’t get much by upgrading from Turbo Pro to D2007 for 399$!
Is there any upgrade path from Turbo Pro to D2007 Enterprise?

Yes, there is an upgrade path from Turbo to D2007 Enterprise. We are getting those SKU’s set up as I type this.
