SysCon media is the worse email spammer with a corporate name on that I have encountered. Years ago there were a similar voting. I went there and filled the questionaire and in a momentary lapse of reason I gave them my real email address. Oh boy, what a foolish action. Every month they would send you advertising emails for Java, Linux or network storage magazines or whatasnot, magazines that you had never expressed any interest in. On their spam emails they would provide an unsubscribe facility, but next month you would find that they had copied your name to another mailing list before you unsubscribed the first one. This got so bad that they would clone the mailing list for each month edition of their Java magazine. You would receive an advert email for the January edition of Java developer magazine. At the bottom of the email they explained how you could unsubscribe from the January email (which you had already received).
"You are currently subscribed to jdjjan04digitaledition as: x.xxxxx@yyy.zz To unsubscribe send a blank email to leave-jdjjan04digitaledition-610xxxxN@mailbox.sys-con.com"
You then unsubscribe, but next month they would put you on another spam email list for the February edition:
"You are currently subscribed to javadevelopersjournaldefeb04 as: x.xxxxx@yyy.zz To unsubscribe send a blank email to leave-javadevelopersjournaldefeb04-693xxxxI@mailbox.sys-con.com"
As you see a new separate mailing list for the same thing! This is how Sys-con operates.
Whatever you do, only give Sys-con a disposable email address.
