Tips on using our web sites
The Internet Services team has been delivering lots of new functionality lately, and while it’s not feasible to document every improvement we make on every system, I’ve been attempting to highlight some of the new things we’ve been doing, and also pointing out some of the existing features people seem to miss.
My latest installment is CodeCentral user tips. An earlier one is Tips for great documents with GetPublished. Before that, I announced a public beta of our new discussion forums. Before that, David Clegg announced our support for Avatars, and Yorai Aminov talked about our great new community calendar/events system, and I described Jonathan Benedicto’s and Yorai’s work to support Wiki content on the Developer Network. Yorai also talked about our support for social bookmarking, which, to date, is unique in the industry. We also announced our new chat system.
All of these articles, and many more, can be found in the Help section of the Developer Network. Links to it aren’t very obvious from the regular web pages, but it does appear under the Developer Network menu on most of our codegear.com pages.

Great to see the many improvements to the CodeGear website! Still - your website is terribly slow from Germany … it takes literally minutes to load, which makes it next to useless. Are you aware of the issue?

Andreas, could you provide some more information on which web sites are loading slowly for you? We upgraded our primary database server about a month back, and anything taking more than 5 or 6 seconds to load would be very unusual. Please give me more information on which sites or URLs are loading slowly for you. Thanks!

John, I just browsed around a bit to get a better feel. Right now the blogs site seems to load OK, but http://www.codegear.com/ site is slower, and the "buy delphi" link is terribly slow - at least 2 minutes. I hope this helps!

Andreas, thanks for the feedback. One of our IT guys detected some failing network hardware, and rerouted most of our network last weekend to avoid it. It’s not completely done yet, but he’s made significant progress at resolving the issue.
