The Gravatar Olympics
As you may be aware, CodeCentral now has support for Gravatar avatars. In honour of the pending Summer Olympics, I think it would be fitting to have a little competition. In this event (feel free to draw your own parallels with an actual Olympic event, because I’m too lazy to do so ;-)), the winning team will be the one with the most Gravatars associated with it. Teams will be split according to the first letter of the CodeCentral author’s last name. At the time of posting this, Team M is winning with a total of 4 avatars, closely followed by Team K, who has 3.
As this article explains, associating a Gravatar with your Developer Network account is easy. Simply sign up for a Gravatar account, using the e-mail address associated with your Developer Network profile.
The competition will run from now, until the Olympic Closing Ceremony on 24th August, so on your marks… get set… go!

Nice post. Btw were aware that the ancient Olympics captured the imaginations of the Greeks for more than a millennium until a Christianized Rome put a stop on the competitions in the fourth century AD. But the Olympic ideal did not die. Anyways which country do you think will win the maximum gold medals?

I’d like to answer "New Zealand", but the realist in me knows that ain’t gonna happen
So instead, I’ll put my money on The United States of America.
And if you want a historical map of olympic medal counts, check out http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2008/08/04/sports/olympics/20080804_MEDALCOUNT_MAP.html.

Embarcadero/CodeGear should rather not use the word "honour" in conjunction with "Olympics".
Embarcadero/CodeGear is not in need of marketing with "Beijing 2008", just like other companies all around the world actually do.
What is the positive relationship you’d like to suggest in associating the brand "CodeGear" with the words "doping", "non respect of human rights", "illegal occupancy of Tibet", "global environmental pollution" ???
Beside this, I love Delphi and await Tiburon eagerly, though

Ashi,
The ancient Olympics were part of pagan religious festivals. Its early forms were not as secular as they appear today. (They’ve gone from religious to political association.) Its secular nature did not arrive until popular pagan religion was made non-existent. This resulted in an Olympics divorced from its pagan festivals. This separation was aided by the spread of the Christian religion.
