Developer Skill Sprint: Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) with Roman Yankovsky

Today’s developer skill sprint is "Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) with Roman Yankovsky". Roman Yankovsky is one of our Embarcadero MVPs in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Roman gave an overview of his DelphiSpec library for automated testing and also mentioned Gherkin "a Business Readable, Domain Specific Language that lets you describe software’s behavior without detailing how that behavior is implemented."

Here are the links that Roman included at the end of his skill sprint presentation:

David, the delphi public forum are my main help with Firemonkey. I am in a big project using FMX and there is a big lack of documentation and the community is helpful sometimes (everyone is new there).

BUT more than a week that the server is mostly of the time offline.

Please, it is important to have that running and stable….

    David,

I can’t help noticing that losing the old forums (with a wealth of information in it and nicely indexed by google) is really a very very big loss. That new forum you mentioned cannot be reached via nntp (afaict) and its web interface looks oldfashioned (it could easely fit on my old nokia phone with the limited width of 1024 pixels. I hope that that new empty web interface is not going to replace the old forum?

But voila.. I was following a (indy) thread and i was dispointed about the forum being down (again). Perhaps you could you tell the community why the ‘old’ newsgroups are shutdown and what is being done to get them back online? I did noticed there was some maintenance scheduled and after that it went presumely down. Do you know when will it be back and where we can find more information about it?

I might be wrong (and i hope i got it wrong), but from my point of view it simply looks if Embarcadero does not care about the community or the wealth of information the forum contains. The forum had already many issues as is down a lot..

    regards,
    Marius
