Yes our offices are closed, but you can still order online from our shop sites

We’ve been running special offers all quarter.  It’s Friday, March 30, 2012 and our offices around the world are closed.  But, you can still take advantage of the special offers using our online shop site as long as you order before midnight (11:59:59pm in your local time zone).  Thank you to all of the developers who have purchased our XE2 products.  We will continue to help you with your development projects in the coming months and years.  For those of you who are still evaluating our XE2 releases, let me know what more we can do to convince you to purchase.

When we post the true here, David I delete the comments. What kind of credibility do you have doing this?

Firemonkey still alpha, you are trying to sell something that is not ready.

Jeff - the only times that comment posts are deleted or do not appear are those comments that have spam links in them or have profanity or total untruths. Otherwise the comments are approved/allowed.

I will choose to respectfully disagree with your characterization of FireMonkey as still in "Alpha". FireMonkey is based in part on some technologies that have been around for years (especially from the KSDEV company where we acquired some intellectual property back in 2010). FireMonkey uses industry standard DirectX, Apple Core Graphics, and OpenGL for runtime rendering. We have also release 4 updates containing new capabilities, quality improvements and additional documentation since the first release.

Other business platforms were release as their first versions and developers immediately picked up the platforms and started writing applications even though we all knew they were just starting. One key to a successful platform is a commitment to continuous improvements and releases. I will be that every developer can name a few platforms that have followed this strategy to success over the years including DOS, Windows, .NET, iOS, Android, Linux and just about every other platform we’ve all used.

We have many happy developers delivering FireMonkey applications and giving us some nice comments (http://www.embarcadero.com/products/firemonkey/testimonials). Check out MultiTrackStudio (http://www.multitrackstudio.com/) - Macintosh version written in Delphi+FireMonkey (their Windows versions are Delphi+VCL for 32 and 64 bit). At the same time we are moving FireMonkey forward into the future with additional capabilities, more platforms and continuous quality improvements.

    Hello David,

A missing aspect in FMX - and an essential one for us here in the Arabian Gulf region - is the RightToLeft capability of textual components. I already purchased XE2 to upgrade our VCL apps. to 64 bit and to be able to write FMX for this growing market.

It’s unfortunate for us to write new components of our software in VCL and not FMX just because of the lack of RightToLeft functionality.

I know you plan to do something about it. I only need you to hurry-up at doing that.

    Thanks and good luck.
