Great progress with a lot of work.
There is a lot of discussion of Spacely as some of the field testers have been able to share what they have seen. We are excited about the feedback and continue to make sure what goes out is even better. It was clear this weekend that the team is pushing to make sure we have the best product out there we can. And while there is a lot of discussion about the name of Delphi for PHP the more exciting discussions have been around what this product can do and how it’s bringing a lot of the power of what people expect in Delphi in terms of VCL and just overall visual development to the PHP world. The bottom-line is that when a few key people first saw what was being built, they said “This is just like Delphi but for PHP, this is really cool”. We are at EclipseCon this week. Be sure to find us for some twinkees and Jbuilder on Eclipse. If you want to meet with any of us there, shoot me a note and I will make sure we get the right people to hunt you down or just stop by the booth. We have our own little event coming up soon with the CodeRage.com virtual conference. A few people have reached out about sponsorship and getting involved. We are very open to finding ways to work with current and new partners. Reach out to David I with any ideas you have and we will see if we can make it happen.

There’s a name that might work: Delphi but for PHP
Can’t wait to play with it!

Me neither.
Will there be any trial version available?

Ben,
"The bottom-line is that when a few key people first saw what was being built, they said “This is just like Delphi but for PHP, this is really cool”
I do hope that "a few key people" wasn’t the only market research that was carried out concerning the name. Please do more market research before creating any more "Delphi for xxxx" products. I personally think the name is a big mistake.

Ben:
The name "Delphi for PHP" is what piqued my interest for the product in the first place. It got me looking and wanting to find out allot more information about it. The buzz in our shop is very high.
I will be buying a copy ASAP. I have talked 2 more of my fellow developers into buying it as well. They are as excited about Delphi for PHP as I am.
If it weren’t for the name, I do not know that I would be as interested or would be willing to part with $250. But if it says Delphi then it sounds like something worth a try. If it had been another company with the same product, I seriously doubt I would be making the purchase or taking the chance.
A word of caution: There’s not but so many times you can go to well with this (I am still smarting from buying Delphi 8 and 2005 although I did buy 2006 and I am going to buy 2007 as soon as its available).
Delphi the brand is like a shiny silver bullet. Be careful do not tarnish it by using it too much.
Thanks for your time and I appreciate your efforts with Delphi in particular and CodeGear in general.

One of the smartest moves was to bring the Turbo line and specially the free edition; this made Delphi popup back into the scene again, because like for many others, that even though I liked Delphi I couldn’t afford $500 price tag; also current VB6 developers looking for a different option other than the .Net had the change to try out Delphi with out expending any money. So keep the ball rolling and put out a Turbo Delphi 2007 version just like you did with Turbo Delphi 2006.
