Delphi 2005 Update 1
Merry Christmas… or as my son likes to say, “Happy ChrismaHanniKwanzica” :-)… Anyway, the Delphi 2005 Update 1 is now out. You can get it from the registered users site. This should address a lot of the various memory consumption issues some folks were encountering. We do potentially have a second update in the pipeline, however the timeline for that has not been established. With the release of C++Builder open letter, a lot of our schedules are in a state of flux at this point. Once the holidays are behind us, we will be able to truly begin to nail down the plans and schedules. .NET 2.0 is on the horizon and is a very important release for us as well. We can ill afford to derail that effort, so careful planning an consideration has to take place.

Unfortunately it’s still unusable. As soon as I try to open a large project (which I have managed to compile once, but that’s as far as I got), it just hangs. I had hoped the update would fix it!

Disabling Together support fixes this problem. Projects now open very quickly. One problem fixed, but another one introduced since the update. I cannot compile any WIN32 project, due to an error in Variants.pas. Program or variants recursively uses itself.

Just to make this thread less disappointing: SP1 works for me (so far). I can compile a medium sized Win32 project with variants. Disabling Together makes things run faster, but even with Together they are not show stopper slow.

Delphi 2005 Update 1 removes .NET Framework SDK and PSDK from the Index of "Documentation".
Why?

Why D2005 hangs up for 2-4 seconds while using the IDE? This happens every 3-5 minutes…

When will the German Version of Update 1 Professional be available?

I found the solutions to Delphi 2005 freezing: disable Together support from Options/Together and also from Project/Together menu.
Now D2005 runs great!!!
